QUESTIONS

  • I am asking this question on behalf of my dear friend who is a senior and does not own a computer in which to ask this question. A year ago, my friends son bought a home in Youngtown, Arizona, for his mom 76 yrs of age and his dad who is 84 yrs of age, to live in until they die, rent free. Today he wants to evict them. What can they do? Do they have any rights? What are AZ laws regarding unwritten tenancy agreements?
  • I would like to change my last name. What would be the first thing I would need to do?
  • Is it legal for the landlord to make me repair an old water pump in the swimming pool and yes it's in the lease but is it legal
  • Is the Tempe city court required to provide a TBI traumatic brain injury victim legal counsel?
  • I rented a mobile home on an acre. The land owner has a management company who signed the lease. collects the rent and does all the repairs. The land owner comes onto the property at will he has two storage sheds behind the house. He also owns the lot next to mine which is empty and refuses to move the storage shed on to it. I have made two complaints to the management company about the land owner about him coming onto the property with out notice. both times the land owner than has a issue with the yard. What can I do to get him to stop coming onto the property at will?
  • If On a Decree of Divorce it states that the minor child Cannot be taken or relocated from the state and one of the parties does this can they held in violation of this court order ?
  • I had a job as a property manager which one of the perks was a free apartment. I was arrested off property for an non-work related reason. I spent four days in jail. The charges were later dropped. When I returned from jail, I was fired and locked out of my apartment. I believe it was wrongful termination, but that's another matter. My question is even though I was an employee, am I still not covered under the Arizona Landlord/Tenant Act? I think I should have had a 10 day Notice to Vacate.
  • Because of the current coronavirus pandemic both my daughter and son-in-law will be laid off indefinitely. Their current lease ends 6/15/20. They notified rental office that they would like to end lease 6 weeks early (end of April) because of this financial hardship. They will live with us until things get back to normal. They have given rental company 45 day notice that they will vacate apartment at the end of April. Rental company is telling them that they will have to pay 2 month penalty for breaking a lease 6 weeks early. This does not sound right during this healthcare emergency!
  • My husband may receive IOU's instead of paychecks in the next month or two. Do mortgage companies offer a temporary forebearance on our loan during the time he doesn't receive a paycheck? We are current on our home but will not be able to make payments if he does not receive a paycheck.
  • My husband and I have been separated for 3 months and I have been live back in the reservation since. He lives and is stationed in Jacksonville, FL. We have a son together. My son and I are both registered members on the Navajo nation. Would I be able to file for divorce on the Navajo nation? I would like for my son and I to stay here, would I be able to take full custody since he is in the military?
