  • Aug. of 2010 the sheriff came to my house telling me the landlord called them because no one should be living there and I needed to call her. He dialed his cell phone. The lady on the other end said I need to send my rent to her. I asked what happened to my landlord was she dead and did not get a response. On Sept 1st I started to send her my rent. We have no written or verbal agreement. The property tax bill is in a dead persons name. Now she wants to evict me because I told her the roof leaks. Can she do this?

  • We just moved out of a rental and we had it professional cleaned and carpets cleaned. Our landlord is deducting from our deposit depreciation for the carpet. we lived there three years and in those 3 years we had the kids rooms get a couple small stain. I understand the stains but can the land lord take money away from us for depreciation on the carpet? every house is going to get depreciation over time and use and they are the one renting it out and even if they weren't they would be living in it them selves. if a landlord can do that than they are going to start doing it for the house.   • I have lived in my apt for 19 years now,my landlord will not fix a thing, i have asked several times, i have the same carpet it's been shampooed over & over, it's horrible when asked he said he'd have to raise my rent, isn't that his responsibility to replace it after so many years. The bank is threatening forclosure against my home I am living in. I was going to take a loan against my retirement to pay off the loan . The new house is in my Granddaughters name and her ex is living in it . Can I have my name put on the house and have her pay me rent without bad tax implications. I have three children that this house should be on the estate . The bank has been sending preforclosure papers against the house I live in . I am afraid I am going to lose everything . My Grandaughter refuses to sell her house snd pay me back . I dont want to hurt her . I was only trying to help . She has a new baby
  • My roommate got arrested for selling a small amount of pot, we got our apartment raided and got evicted within a week, I was never arrested, never charged with anything, and the warrant was for his detainment, the search of his property, and his arrest, my name was not on the warrant whatsoever. The apartment complex now wants to charge us for the remainder of the lease and other charges which comes out to about $9K, what are my options?
