Question: My wife left me 8 mos. ago. We lived in Colorado (I still do). How do I find out if she has filed for legal seperation ?

Answer: No matter which state a person moved to, they would be required to serve their spouse with the separation papers upon filing.  If she filed without serving papers on you, she would have to claim to the court that she had made diligent efforts to locate you but could not track you down.  If she knows where you live and lied to the court, that would be fraud on the court.  Many states have court documents and court dockets on line.  You might also check on the court website where she currently lives.
