QUESTIONS

  • Signed a lease agreement a few weeks ago to an apartment sight unseen due to current resident. Today, my wife and i received keys to the new apt. Immediately found a roach infestation. In every room and every corner, black and german roaches coming out of the walls. Not one thing has been moved in yet and we were in the apt for about3 minutes. Can we legally terminate and/or nullify this lease pre move in, due to health concerns with our newborn? I have video of the roaches crawling everywhere.
  • I am currently 5 months pregnant and the baby's father hasn't really been involved at all. He's leaving for a couple of months (for some job) and won't be back until after the baby is born so he will definitely miss the birth. If he's not there to sign the birth certificate do I have to list him as the father on the certificate? Can I leave his name out and just put mine. He's not interested in being a part of the baby's life so is there any way I can get sole custody?

  • There is a court order in place for my ex-husband's parents to have monthly visitation with our children. My ex-husband is in prison and the grandparents (his parents) have not exercised their visitation for over 1 year. I show up with the kids every month at the court ordered meeting place and they never show. Do I have to keep going? Do I have to file and pay to officially cancel this visitation or by them not showing up for over a year does this cancel it? If so, what do I file?
  • I recently leased my home to a family. The house is 4300 sqft has a shelved/ closeted garage, an attic and a shed. The tenants have storage space within the house and a small amount of space in the garage. I left some of my belongings in the attic, the garage and household items in the shed. I am not planning on responding to summons.He is saying that he will dispose of all things if I do not remove them right away as he wants them out of his house.
