QUESTIONS

  • My tenant is 2 months behind on rent, and she just sent me a message that the washing machine in my condo is not working properly. I would normally take care of it, but is it still my obligation if she is behind on her rent payments and not fulfilling her lease obligations?
  • My husband and I are getting divorced and have 4 children under the age of 12. We have not been able to reach an agreement on custody and temporary orders  included that joint physical custody be granted. In addition, there are "parentling evaluations" scheduled . What is a "Parenting evaluation" and what kinds of questions should I expect? Will there be an opportunity for me to provide the evaluator with inforation? Thank you!
  • Recently signed a lease on an apartment, upon moving in found that there is no heat in the unit, even though is AZ, it gets cold at night in the winter. Is a landlord required to provide heat in a unit?
  • The lease for my apartment ended on the 31st of the month. The office assistance told me to turn in my key on the 1st before 5pm. I did as told when I turned in the key on 1st at 3pm they said i will be charged for additional month’s rent due to the extra day i stayed in the apartment not charged for the one day but charged a whole extra $699 rent. They implied that i should have turned the key in the drop box before the office opened and were “sorry” for mis-communication. They directly told me the 1st before 5pm.
  • My sons father doesn't follow the court order in place and he blocks my cell phone number and my fiances from contacting to wonder WHY he's not getting my son. His girlfriend has text me and told me what he is doing and when he has gotten Caleb he teaches him that it's okay to hit women! And there is domestic violence but I do not know how to prove it unless his girlfriend said it to the judge .
  • My ex is not complying with the courts order for visitation. I am supposed to see my child every other weekend and this hasn't ever happened since my divorce was final in Aug of '06. Is there anything legal I can do about my situation.
  • My ex wont tell me where he works or what he makes how much he makes, how do I get this information?
  • What ramifications can occur if both plaintiff and defendant want to drop the Protection Order and disobeyed the order by getting back together. They are married.
  • My ex stole my dog. I adopted her while we were dating, her adoption paperwork is in my name ONLY. We have since broken up, and he took her without my permission and will not return her. One cop said it's theft of personal property, but suggested trying to deal with it directly with my ex first, then follow up if she wasn't returned. I followed up and the next cop I talked to said it's not theft of personal property because I adopted her while in the relationship with my ex, and the adoption paper doesn't matter even if my ex and I were never married so it's not a criminal issue. Is this true?
  • What can I do if the landlaord turns off the chiller system for the whole apartment complex and it's over 100 degrees outside
