  • My best friend is having issues with her husband. He drinks every day to the point of total intoxication. He is verbally abusive and demeaning to her. He has pushed her, head butted her and told her that he “should beat her ass”. He has maxed out her credit cards and does everything he can to financially entrap her. They have 2 children 13 and 15. She is afraid to leave the kids with him because of his drinking and because he is not dependable. My friend wants to leave but due to the financial position he continues to put her in, she cannot afford to get out. Is this considered DV? Options?

  • My sister in law came to stay with us from CA because we didn't want her to be homeless....we allowed her to stay here so that she could have time to get a job and find a place for herself. She is not on the lease and doesn't pay rent nor has there ever been rent spoken of because this was supposed to be temporary. She did have her mail forwarded to herself her. Since moving in we have found out she is actively using street drugs and is not making efforts to help herself and has become increasingly hostile and verbally abusive. Can she still be removed as a guest...the police said no. Help.

  • I applied for unemployment on March 29th and was approved. I have been receiving unemployment but I have not spent any as I am sure my previous employer will dispute the unemployment claim. • Our house has been with a broken AC for 3 weeks. We have had to wait for a repair, another repair, a second opinion, another attempted repair, etc. Today we were supposed to have someone come to our house and give us a new unit but when I asked my landlord where they were she said since our house was at 82 degrees we got pushed for people with hotter houses. Our house is cool because we had to rent a mobile AC unit. Our electric bill is twice as much due to a 30 year old AC. What right do we have and should our landlord pay for some of our electric bill?
  • My mother Passed away on June 28, 2013. Since then my dad has remarried and kicked my little brother out of his home he is currectly living with my older brother, my sister in law and I. We recently tried to get him registered for school but could not and had to wait on my father who is always late with things that are not pertaining to him. He also gets my brother social security he give it to him. I do not think its fair that my lil brother should have to go over my dad's house with his new wife and get his own money or any other document. Please let me know how to obtain guardianship.
