  • When in the middle of divorce proceedings, and one of the two spouses moves out to another residence taking all of his possessions, is it legal to have the locks changed on the marital home even though both co-own the home? The home is up for sale as listed in our beginning divorce papers.
  • we had no electric in one room of our rental for 9 months. It would sometimes flicker when we jumped on the floor or slammed the door. We contacted the landlord several times to repair it. We have several text messages stating such. The cost to repair was more than 50% of our rent. We gave our 30 day notice on July 2 for August 1st after months of trying to get this repaired. Our landlord checked us out on Aug 1 stating everything was perfect and we would receive all of our deposit back in 14 business days. Our total deposit was $1850- we received $300. They stated we did not give them notice
  • My ex wife is late on rent. The attorney fee is $450.00 , is this considered "reasonable"? My understanding is she is being charged for the filing and un-filing with the court for an eviction. Additionally, she was not able to pay her rent and late fees at one point because the website they require her to pay through didn't have the updated information... The website listed a total amount due, but wouldn't accept the payment. This caused her to be several more days late while the office figured out the issue. This increased late fees and attorney fees. Is this acceptable? Or reasonable?
  • My landlord told me on the day i moved out (11/30/08) that she had fourteen days to finalize my deposit. it is now the 16th of december and when i called her she said that she had fourteen "working days" to finalize my deposit? after reviewing this website i find nothing about working days stated anywhere in the law and i was wondering what rights i have as a former tenant.

I WAS SUPPOSE 2 TSTIFY IN COURT BUT DIDNT CUZ I WAS 2 SCARED. SO IT WAS DISMISSED. NOW THAT IM NOT SCARED ANYMORE N HAVE BEEN AWAY FROM HIM FOR 3YRS. CAN IT BE BROUGHT BACK UP. CAN HE BE CHARGED NOW. HOW DO I FIND OUT?

  • My adult probation officer informed me that she was "required by law" to receive a notarized letter from my employer - I asked if there was a standard format letter I could review and she said no. I have no issue verifying employment through typical means but I feel a letter that is arbitrary is a bit unfair. I just want someone to show me the "required by law" part???
