  • I live in an apartment complex near NAU. My roommate and I have lived here for about three months now and we have a dog (only 15 lbs), which is allowed by the apartment complex (up to 40 lbs). We found a stray kitten a few weeks back (only 6 lbs), and we would like to keep her. The lease that we signed says NOTHING about being limited to only one animal in the apartment, however they are telling us that that is what their policy is, even though there was no written agreement to that. Should I be able to get another pet in the apartment?

What can they do? Do they have any rights? What are AZ laws regarding unwritten tenancy agreements?
  • Since July we have had a scorpion problem. We have continuously notified the office by letter each time we find a scorpion, we have even brought some into the office. The manager agreed to let us break our lease without payment on our behalf with a 30 day notice. 5 days after the agreement was made that manager had been let go and a new manager took over who had no idea about the agreement. Now they are saying the old manager did not take the proper steps to let us break our lease and refuses now to let us leave. We have 3 children under 8,I am pregnant and my husband was stung. What now?
  • I served in the USMC for 3 years mostly as a reservist. Due to my mental health disability i was discharged with an 'other than honourable' discharge. I am on SSDI for this disability and feel that because my disease was active during my duty I should be upgraded to a 'general health' discharge. I have meritorious commendation letters from my service before my discharge.
