QUESTIONS

  • I am renting to own a mobile home in a mobile home park, my propane line that runs my stove, hot water heater and furnace is leaking and i can smell propane through the house and outsied the house. my question is who is reponsible for repairing the propane line? the landlord says we are as tenents. Also, my furnace that provides heat does not work and has not worked in the whole 18 months I lived here and I have kids, he says it is my responsibility to fix.
  • My family just moved out of a rental house where we lived for 5 years. In the original lease, and verbally ever since then (even in March of this year) the landlord said we would not have to pay for the condition of the carpeting when we moved out because he was going to replace it. The carpet was not damaged, but needed deep cleaning. Now the landlord says we owe $400 over and above our security deposit. He lists $500 for carpet cleaning. Can he do this? What can we do? Thanks
  • I've lived in my apartment for 3 months and have not received a copy of my lease. I have asked my landlord for a copy many times and they have not given me one. What can i do about this?
  • I want a divorce, husband doesn't. He is the cause of the divorce. When I talk about it he gets mad, makes accusations and threats. He does not get physically violent, but he has told me things like I cannot leave (or takes my keys or phone so I can't), or I cannot take the kids from the house, or says he will take the kids. He is very possessive and becomes a bully when divorce is brought up. On multiple occasions he has driven off aggressively saying his life is over without me and the kids.
