  • What are the consequences for failing to provide an AFI, to the other party, when it is required by court order?

I have an applicant threatenubg to file a complaint on a violation of the fair housing act, citing race as her reason. honestly, i’m not sure what race she even is but I denied her because she stated on her application that she filed for bankruptcy in 2010. What is fair in this instance? Are there printed guidelines for landlords to follow when accepting a renter?

  • On August 13, 2017 I awoke to find my Apt flooded due to a toilet line leak. It was under water for approx 6 hours. The Manager arranged for draining/cleaning but did not replace the floor (vinyl) or carpet. Just "dried" it. Claims no mold but odor lingers. My question is, it was unlovable for 5 days and no refrigerator for past 7+ days. Requested rent adjustment, but was told "it was your own risk.....can't predict when a flood occurs". Can they refuse to adjust the rent? Will I lose my deposit?

  • Hello, my lease explicitly states that 30 days notice prior to lease ending date is required if I wanted to move out after the lease is up. At the last second we just decided that we are going to move. What penalties would I be facing monetarily speaking for not giving my landlord 30 days notice. Today is October 30th 2017. My lease states that ends November 1st 2017. However in the lease agreement we agreed that rent would be due on the 5th each month. So technically I'm paid up through the 5th of November.
