my tenant moved out Feb 1st w 4 months left on lease. I simply received a text stating she moved, the keys were in the kitchen, no explanation, nor any request for repair, she would not return my phone calls. does a text qualify as written notice to vacate. lease required 60 days notice. the tenant at neighboring property I rent was arrested, an inaccurate article appeared in the paper now the lease breaker wants her entire deposit refunded. I re-leased her property, sent her a deposit refund less prorated rent to re-lease date, late fee, minimum cleaning charge, per lease. she reported nothin

If someone was convicted of domestic violence 3 years ago, can they by any way file any motions to get the fines reduced by the court? or file for any motions to set aside the conviction?

I've rented a home that has 3 bedrooms, when inspecting the house the a.c. was not on so I was not aware that one of the bedrooms has little airflow. A.c. guy said ductwork need to be done. This a 6month old child's room. Landlord said it's too expensive to do the duct work. What are my rights about this? Can I be refunded my last 2 months rent because the do not want to do the duct work?

I applied for unemployment on March 29th and was approved. I have been receiving unemployment but I have not spent any as I am sure my previous employer will dispute the unemployment claim. How long does an employer have to dispute an umemployment claim? I do not feel safe touching the monies I've been given yet.

The flushing mechanism inside the toilet tank has broken. Flushing the toilet is only possible by reaching into the tank and pulling the chain. Is it the lanlords responsibility to fix it?

After signing a lease back in March 2014 for 13 months for a certain price, the company now is saying that they made a 2% tax mistake and making every resident pay the extra from now on...it just seems to me once the lease is signed they couldn't raise the rent....so can an apt complex do that?
