QUESTIONS

  • For 2 years the roof in my apartment leaks every time it rains ruining the wall, ceiling and flooring. My landlord calls in repairs to the same company to come back out because she says it's under warrenty. We've had them out 7 times and there's been mold. The new drywall and flooring is ruined already. I need to know my rights in this situation. I have kids and this is unhealthy.
  • I presently residing in a over 55 complex for the past three yrs. Never had to pay for rental insurance. Now, with the new lease coming, they are asking for payment on an insurance. My question is: Is this insurance a LAW? Do I have to pay a yearly insurance or montly? If there is no law, I do not/cannot afford to pay. As well as other seniors in the complex. We only live on a SS checks. Many do not have enough to their personal needs. I cannot pay for a lawyer either. I just need to know the LAW on the subject so that I know what to do. Thank you in advance for your kind attention to this mat
  • I was fired for forwarding an email deemed offensive...no nudity but the word penis appeared. Other people have received only reprimands for like offenses. I believe the termination was personal because the Pres. didn't like me...My sales performance was not in question. Others have numerous formal complaints against them and were ordered to anger mgmt. classes, but still employed. I knew there was a policy against what I did...even my boss and I traded emails before. Do I have a chance at any recourse?
  • I just received a summons from my spouse for a court date for divorce but I have already filled and received a court date prior to that. Is this possible?
  • I am a veteran I tried to attempt suicide 11 months ago and I am currently ordered to pay child support but the way life is going I think its in the best interest of the kids to not have a relationship with me because of my mental health problems and major financial issues. How to I go about giving up all parental rights and financial obligations without having to discuss my suicide attempt in court? I just want to let them live a happy life and not worry about me because I plan on moving away in the next few months.
  • my children live in Arizona with there father and I live in Washington, I would like to have my children's side of things taken into consideration when we go back to court, what do I need to do to make that happen.
  • Who do you contact to see if there is a child support order against you? Is there an online search engine by name or SSN?
  • Can a landlord require a tenant to pay $59 for a Technology Package (basic Cable and Wi-Fi) from Cox as a condition of Lease Renewal if tenant doesn't want it or have a TV or Computer/WiFi capable phone.
  • Are the terms of a loan modification completely at the discretion of the lender or are there state or federal guidelines they must follow? Homeowners must become 90 days behind to get my mortgage company to consider modification. By this time, isn't my credit nearly as damaged as it would be with foreclosure?
  • My apartment , for the 5th time this year, as left a piece of paper outside my door with an open-ended notice of water being shut off for repairs. After about 5 hours, I've called for an update and they just say they don't know when it will be done. Is it within their rights to leave open-ended notices, not even in person, of utilities being cut? Do i have any rights in this matter as a paying tenant with a 5 month old who works from home?
