  • My apartment charged me $50 dollars a month because electricity was not set through an external account, even if they charged me through their own system, can they enforce this extra fine?
  • My financial advisor says that any IRA's and property I own prior to marriage is still mine unless I comingle funds. Only what is acquired after marriage is community property. Is this so?
  • My house was sold at auction on May 28,2014 while i occupied it. I was away out of town and returned today. The locks have been changed and the mortgage co transfers me to the legal dept who wont give me any info on the sale. The county recorder has no info on the sale yet and the sheriff suggested i call landlord tenant line and they cant help because i am not a renter. They suggested legal aid. so here i am . 1 How do i get the things out of my house 2.who do i go to for help
  • Because of the current coronavirus pandemic both my daughter and son-in-law will be laid off indefinitely. Their current lease ends 6/15/20. They notified rental office that they would like to end lease 6 weeks early (end of April) because of this financial hardship. They will live with us until things get back to normal. They have given rental company 45 day notice that they will vacate apartment at the end of April. Rental company is telling them that they will have to pay 2 month penalty for breaking a lease 6 weeks early. This does not sound right during this healthcare emergency!

  • Can the apartment management come in to my apartment and take photographs? I refused but they did it anyway, I asked him to leave and he ignored me. The photos included my entire kitchen, my pantry that I purchased and it has glass doors (not part of the apartment, a stand alone cabinet) and my bathroom. We had recent repairs but he didn't take photos in the areas repaired and refused to answer why. My personal belongings were in the photo. The apartment was very clean, nothing Out of compliance but I feel my rights were violated.
  • The gas is in my landlord's name because it covers the whole building, and he is supposed to give us a monthly statement so we can pay our share. We have been here since January. It is March, and we have yet to receive a bill. I am afraid that he will wait until it is too much to pay at once. Does he have a time limit to get our monthly bill to us?
