Question: We rent a home through a property manager. We received a fine from the HOA regarding my husbands work truck. This rule is in a design builds document that we never received or agreed to at move in. We are refusing the fees and think this should void our lease since we only signed the CC&r's and the rules and regs. We weren't told about this and never would have rented a house that didn't allow a work truck. Anything I can do from here?

Answer: Whether one is charged with notice about design builds documents and other elements of HOA governance will depend largely upon the lease signed.
