Question: How do I go about getting my rights reinstated? I served a 5 year prison sentence and was released in 1998.

Answer:

A person may submit application for the restoration of their right to posse or carry a gun or firearm no sooner than after 2 years after the completion of their imprisonment. Serious, violent, or aggravated offenders may not apply for the restoration of their rights until 10 years after the completion of their imprisonment. If deemed a dangerous offender under ARS Title 13-704 the person may not apply for the restoration of their rights. The person’s application will only be processed by the superior court judge by whom he was sentenced, or by the judge’s successor from the county in which they were convicted.
