QUESTIONS

  • We had flooding from recent storm. Walls got wet, carpet got wet, and light fixture not working. Landlord said let dry out and things will be fine. No repairs. Only cut open wall to worst leak and put a dryer in there. No one has come back. That 9/8/14. Today is 9/10/14. Should we give 5 or 10 day notice to fix? It now smells moldy in here, and I have to cook dinner in semi dark. Already frustrated because we have roaches! I have allergies and don't want to be exposed to them or to mold.
  • I’m getting a divorce with my only means of income 100% Va Disability, and Military Retirement. This is my 2nd marriage, all military service was completed prior to this marriage. My first former spouse already receives a portion of my military retirement. Can my military retirement or a portion of it be awarded to my 2nd former spouse?
  • We rent a house that has a well water system. Sunday the well quit working. After trying to contact landlord all day via his phone and speaking with his son he agreed to have someone come out. The company came out Monday morning, found the problem and relayed this and the cost to the landlord. His response was that he did not want to pay this price. He asked if we can pay 1/3 of the cost after he finds a cheaper contractor to fix the problem. The motor is out on the pump. Now it is Tuesday we still have no water. 6 cats, 3 dogs, chickens, and 3 people with no water except what we bought in jug
  • I have sole legal custody of my 3 kids my ex has supervised visits, I am not allowed to move 100 miles from where I did when our divorce finalized without permission. Am I allowed to take my kids on vacation out of town or state, or do I have to get permission from the court?

Later when I went outside, I noticed my large area rug that I had rolled up and put up on back patio was gone along with all the Large trash bags I had put aside of aluminum cans. It was obvious I collected/saved aluminum cans, I had desingated a assigned area in the corner of the yard with a "make shift small fence. I asked her about them and she told me that she would discuss those items when she sees me, I should have rights, to me that is like stealing?

  • I moved in with my girlfriend and her sister back in March 2017, I am not on the lease but I have been paying half of the bills since I got here. Her sister is now saying I need to leave or she will call the police. My girlfriend is the primary lease holder and said it's fine for me to stay. What are my rights?
  • Who can evict me. My landlord does not own property. His sister does. I refused to pay this months rent. I have a part of my ceiling exposed because the ceiling fell due to water damage. Insulation exposed, black mold is there. MLandlord sent 5 day eviction notice in mail. text me that he will be giving me a letter tomorrow saying he is inspecting home on Sunday. What do I do? I was hospitalized late June. Could not find what caused illness. Thought it was a stroke. I was in a SNF. Got better. Once I came home, I am again suffering from headaches again, tired so are my children Mold in AZ too
