  • The apartment above mine had a toilet over flow. it leaked through my ceiling and damaged my daughters bed all her toys and clothes, my kitchen table, my wood furniture, went through the cabinets and wet all my dishes and cups (I cant use them after they have had toilet water on them) my couches and the ceiling has water pockets and carpet was mushy and soaked my linen closet was all wet and damaged everything I had in there. can I get out of my lease without paying? Are the Apartments responsible for my belongings or the tenants above me responsible or am I just screwed? my apt stinks!

  • I live in a rental apartment. The microwave oven door fell apart and when I called to have it repaired I was charged for the repairs which cost more than if I had replaced the oven. There are also fees that were added on for community amenities that were not listed in the lease, such as community electricity and common gas, and valet waste and waste management. ?Can the apartment complex charge me for these even though they are not listed in the lease?
  • Can my 1/2 of the deposit be withheld if I comply to my notice to vacate and leave before lease is up and my roommate stays aka “squats”. He has decided to stay and never gave his notice to vacate , because due to the pandemic, his next rental is unavailable for another 30/60 days.
