QUESTIONS

  • I am representing myself, Pro Per in a short 1 hour hearing on temp orders. I am the petitioner and the respondent is listing me as on e of her witnesses to call. Can I refuse to take the stand as her objective will be to get me to testify against myself and I cannot cross examine myself after? Also can I and how could I ask the Judge to not grant every witness she has submitted, time on the stand, as that will run out the clock with so many of them? I have not called any witnesses because we only were given an hour and thought this was only to go over the details of already submitted evidence
  • I was arrested at a friends mobile home on a misdemeanor warrant. I went without a hassle or drama. The charge was disorderly conduct. I was out in 14 days, went back to the park where coincidentally i do not live, was told there was no problem with me being there. The kicker is that my friends, a couple of about 70 years old are now getting evicted because of it. Im beside myself. It is not right. Id willingly have them ban me from the park if my friends would not get evicted. Is there no hope for them ?
  • I own a mobile home but rent the land it sits on (in a park). Monthly, the landlord sends a bill that includes a base rent, charges for electricity, water use, and sewer. It also includes a "rent tax." I'm unsure what this rent tax is and whethere he should be paying it or I should. There is also a "service charge" of $10 on the monthly electric portion, which I think is a reading fee (a man who lives here reads the meters). Are these last two charges legitimate?
  • I have recently filed a petition to move out of state with my 2 yr old son. His father and I divorced when he was 1 yr old. I have my sons only sibling and have been his primary care taker since birth. I am remarried and expecting a child. My husband is stationed in the military. Everything I read makes me feel like I will have to relocate with out my son and that the courts favor with the non-moving parent. What is the likely hood of the courts making me leave him given the circumstances, and will they really separate siblings who have been together?
  • In 2010 I was granted a bankruptcy, which included my home. However, the home wasn't foreclosed upon until 2011. Now, I want to purchase property. Does the date before I can get a loan count back to when the bankruptcy was granted or to the date of the foreclosure?

  • My apartment is partially furnished, a bed. The bed is used and very uncomfortable. The mattress is old. What can I do to get a new bed? Is it legal for my landlord to keep used mattresses in his units? Also, he says that if I buy a new mattress, I have to leave it there when I move out. The lease stipulates that I cannot remove or modify the existing furniture. So can he do this ?
  • I work for a security company here in Tucson and was made aware that they will charge anyone who quits without notice even in the middle of a shift a $200 fee. I was under the impression that as Arizona was an Employment at will state that you could end employment whenever for any or no reason without any kind of penalty. Am I correct in thinking this?
  • In the past I have called in the police for help because my husband was hit, pushing or verbal abusing, but there was " never any mark or signs of abuse" so they said they couldn't help me. Las night out of nowhere he started to hit me again and push away some big soda bottles that my daughter and I were working on and did hit my daughter. But ones again I but have that many marks. Can I ask for help?
