  • My friend purchased a car from a private seller and had a contract drawn up and signed by both parties, the car was paid off in full but the other party never released the lien, she was elderly and did not release. Now he took the car back with police and put his name on a clean title...all receipts are in order for paid in full on time..can he do that? What statute can you point us to for court case to get the car back

  • On August 13, 2017 I awoke to find my Apt flooded due to a toilet line leak. It was under water for approx 6 hours. The Manager arranged for draining/cleaning but did not replace the floor (vinyl) or carpet. Just "dried" it. Claims no mold but odor lingers. My question is, it was unlovable for 5 days and no refrigerator for past 7+ days. Requested rent adjustment, but was told "it was your own risk.....can't predict when a flood occurs". Can they refuse to adjust the rent? Will I lose my deposit?

  • In Sept 2017 I signed a lease with XXXXX apt. Rent was behind 2 months. Never received an eviction notice, but my locks did get changed, and always in contact with Leasing Manager. I showed up with rent for both months, and she said, no I am not going to rent I am going to evict you. So, I left came back for my stuff, and Feb 2018 I get a bill for $18k that I need to pay for the 12 months. Is that legal?
