QUESTIONS

  • Does landlord have the right to impose a monthly fee for indoor pets when the tenant owns the mobile home and pays rent for the space only since the pet will never impact the mobile home community?
  • I moved into an apartment complex nearly 6 months ago. 2 months ago they announced they will no longer accept payments at the office and the only choice is to use their online app or pay cash at a local Walmart. This was not in the lease when i signed it. The amount due is already pre applied on the app. 2 months of payments are submitted, no record on my account 2-4 days after the 1st. 3rd payment due, is less and unable to 'edit' for correction. I took screen shots of the process and says paid. No payment due for 27 days. I emailed the office about it.can they charge me fees for the error
  • My landlord has sold the house I am renting. I have 10 months left on the lease. The new home-owner is not buying the house as "occupied". I have agreed to move out. Do the old homeowners owe me any sort of compensation because they broke the lease (comparable to what I would owe if I were the one breaking the lease)? I had about 1 weeks notice. Thanks!

  • Hello, my lease explicitly states that 30 days notice prior to lease ending date is required if I wanted to move out after the lease is up. At the last second we just decided that we are going to move. What penalties would I be facing monetarily speaking for not giving my landlord 30 days notice. Today is October 30th 2017. My lease states that ends November 1st 2017. However in the lease agreement we agreed that rent would be due on the 5th each month. So technically I'm paid up through the 5th of November.
  • in my apartment with no air conditioner. It is very hot and humid in my apartment and it makes me feel as if I want to faint I advised my manager serval times of the situation and all she can say is im calling my boss to see about the ac guy .   • The AC for my rental property went out (single family property) and I recieved a text message from the tenant that evening (no written notice of any sort). I could not find anyone to come out and fix it the next day. So tenant had no ac for one full day. They rented a hotel room for one night and deducted it plus food from the next monthly rent. My question is, under section 33-1364 the amount can not exceed 125% of periodic rent, what does "periodic rent" mean? Monthly rent amount or daily rent amount (monthly rent divided by 30 or 31 days)? Thank you so much
  • My landlord issued a letter in May, stating that that was my 48 hour notice that she would begin showing my apartment to potential tenants. However, she is stating that she can show it from 12:30-7:30pm every day of the week with that notice. Is that legal?
  • My Landlord has been providing poor maintenance that "fixes" the problem. Our a/c has been leaking into the hallway and under the sink where the drain connection is. Because of the poor maintenance and the well-being of my family I pipe snaked the drain and provided proper fittings for the drain a total of 1.5hrs of maintenance. I notified the landlord and asked for a reduction in next months rent for labor and materials, am I within my legal right to do so?
