  • im 17 and i live with my grandma. She has legal custidy of me. My dad died and my mom has been getting her life together and wants me to live with her. and i do too. I cant stand living with my grandma... what can i do, so i can live with my mom or someone else?
  • The lease for my apartment ended on the 31st of the month. The office assistance told me to turn in my key on the 1st before 5pm. I did as told when I turned in the key on 1st at 3pm they said i will be charged for additional month’s rent due to the extra day i stayed in the apartment not charged for the one day but charged a whole extra $699 rent. They implied that i should have turned the key in the drop box before the office opened and were “sorry” for mis-communication. They directly told me the 1st before 5pm.
  • I was renting a trailer for over a year and about 8 months ago I started getting sick. I moved bedroom furniture and discovered mold on the wall. I immediately moved out but had to leave 2 beds, couches, pillows, comforters, etc. My daughter and I ended up on my moms floor with no pillows or blankets so I asked for $200 of my security deposit back and was told I had to sign a waiver before I received my money. Before I moved in a pipe had burst and was fixed by the maintenance man who came in and told me the mold was probably in the walls the whole time. Is there anything I can do?
  • Can my landlord charge me for water, electric, or other utility bills that the property manager neglected to charge for in previous months? I am now being charged for utilities that were billed 2, 3, 4, and even 5 months ago. For instance, a bill came to them in May, which they neglected to post to our account, and they are now charging me for in September.
  • I recently rented a room for my wife and I from a couple in Phoenix. I paid a deposit and three months rent in advance totaling $1625. I received signed receipts. Before moving in the landlord changed our original agreement and asked for a separate fee for utilities. We had agreed on a monthly rent charge that would include utilities.I informed the landlord that if he could not adhere to our agreement I would remove my property and wanted a refund. After considerable difficulty I was allowed to do so but a refund has been refused. A lease was also refused. I never stayed in the home even once.
  • We hired a lawyer to file court papers to stop foreclosure. He did not file in time but He said he called bank and they said they would wait 1 more week to foreclose because our lawyer needed more time. The bank did not wait and foreclosed anyways (of course) our lawyer did not file proper paper work for that he just called the bank and they said ok Now we are losing our house and don't know who to get help from. We have paid thousands to these lawyers and are waiting to see if appeals court will take our case. We did what were suppose to do they did not Have lived here 31yrs. who can help
  • I’ve been trying to see my daughter after I allow her to move back home to Boston cause her moms boyfriend passed away and we came to agreement that we would try to make the trip accommodative.   • Son in prison for drugs only but will be in for several years (first time incarcerated). He is in a drug rehab program there. Grandmother from mother's side has custody of his child. She asked him to sign away his rights as a parent. When he refused she said she can go to court and adopt the child anyway because of his being in prison. Can she do this? Can he loose permanent custody with this.
  • My divorce decree from over 40 years ago specifies my former wife may continue to reside in our former residence. Both our names are on deed to the property. How can I find out if I have any liability related to this property since my name is still on it. And if I do, how do I protect myself?
