QUESTIONS

  • My husband is homeless and does not really have an address. I mailed the acceptance of service plus the divorce papers to him at his last known addressvia certified mail. If I get the papers back unclaimed or undelivered can I file this along with asking for a default or do I have to go by publication? I cannot afford all these fees. I did get a deferral for the court fees but did not check for publication fees. Publication sounds like it is a hard and delaying process. I hear some saying I can file if I get the certified green card back as proof of service or even if the papers come back unclaimed. We have three kids and I am asking for sole custody.
  • I've been handling my divorce on my own. So far I've found all the forms online. Now I've run into a wall, I can't find where to download the forms, that will get me subpoenas, or tell me how/where to get em. If anyone can help with this, I'd be very grateful.

  • My ex has an order of protection on me. I am also on probation because of our relationship issues. I have to report all her attempts to contact me to my p.o. She has sent many threats, msgs, and requests I contact her. I have filed a police report against her, and victim svcs has told her to stop, but she now uses my p.o.'s name in her msgs while advising me that there is nothing either vic svcs, my p.o., nor TPD can do beyond advising her not to contact me, but I will go to prison if I reply. How can I protect myself against her? I have reason to fear further action by her.

  • I have taken care of my father for many years and he finally passed away in 2013. He put my name on the house deed in 2011 but kept the mortgage in his and my late mother's names. Now that they are both deceased what do I do about the mortgage that is in his and my mother's name? There was no probate as I took over the mortgage payment and the one bill he still owed on. I simple have no clue what to do about the mortgage because I only have $730.00 per month in Social security disability and know that banks won't lend to anyone with that low an income. What can I do?
  • Moved into renovated home was to be done by 6/18 (day moved in). Upon arrival; 2 baseball size holes in 2 windows & piles of trash under carport. Due to incorrect measurements windows would be another week. Week1 dryer vent had to be re-cut, electrician rewired house due to fire hazard. Week2 plumbing unable to do laundry 2weeks now, family has to share 1 bathroom, windows not replaced. Week3 windows replaced 7/1–7/6, plumbing on hold to find better price (laundry?), & still sharing bathroom. Was given 1 months free rent but asking us to pay full electricity bill. What are her obligations?

  • Hi, my kids and I I live and take care of my mom and dad and I make sure my father gets to his appts, takes pills etc, and my moms on hospice and i am both the medical power of attorney for them. I am the youngest of 8 and I fear that is something happens to my parents and their home is under my dad and brother that comes around every cpl days for a bit then leaves. Is there or should I do something now before its too late in order for us not to be in the street after parents pass. I pay all the bills and property taxes and I dont want the place under my name I just dont want my brother to get mad cuz he drinks and gets dumb and threatens to kick us off his property for telling him not to drink here. Now us is myself and 3 daughters. we all take care of my parents.
