The last duty station we were all at for longer than 6 months was in New Mexico. Kids and I are now staying in Arizona with my mom since March 3, 2015. • I am disabled and receiving food stamps (SNAP). I submitted a medical expense list with receipts. DES stated that they do not count dental or vision expenses (eye exams, eyeglasses, contact lenses, dental exams, cleanings, fillings, crowns, root canals) or prescription medications which are not paid for every month. They did not address the cost of medical transportation (gas to get to medical appointments). I believe that these expenses should be counted as they are out of pocket medical expenses, and the total should be divided by the number of months in the eligibility period. Help!
