  • I pay spousal maitenance monthly to Support Payment Clearing House directy, in the form of a check. The divorce decree that is on record has a date listed as the final date or last payment to be payed through January 31, 2019. Do I need to fill any additional closure documents or just send the last payment when due? It is not withheld from my paycheck. I write the check. Not sure if I need to file anything or if they get it per the decree.

  • I was just delivered a notice that my apt building has been sold and starting 2/1/15 my rent is increasing and I must sign a 12 mos lease. I am currently on month to month can they raise the rent and expect a lease signed in 11 days or must they give notice? If notice must be given is it 30 days?

They did not respond until today, 8/7/17. When we moved in, our rent for Sept '16 (9/13 - 9/30) was prorated. In our notice, I stated we would be paying the pro-rated amount of our rent due on 9/1 for the 12 days we will be occupying the apartment. The management let us know that our lease will end on 9/12, but we are responsible for the entire month of Sept. rent. I am unsure. I have communicated with them by e-mail because I wanted to document it.

  • My ex-wife has sole custody of our kids. She constantly uses it to her advantage. We have arranged time for me to have the kids but if it doesn't benefit her she will make it very difficult. I want to have a very set time for which we have the kids and I want to be able to have more imput in decisions regarding the kids. I need to get joint custody.
