should the state appoint me a public defender in my case? i was in a car accident in my own front yard and was arrested 2 days later. the judge released me on no probable cause and was dropped the next day. a month later the municipal court sent a letter saying i have all these charges. plead not guilty and to trial. the judge then told me i had to repersent myself and i wasnt getting a public defender. my charges are aggravated assualt w/deadly weapon(2), reckless driving, disorderly conduct, and domestic violence what should i do

My mother died and my brother owed her money. There are notorized copies of the loan agreement. Can I collect on behalf of her estate?

I currently live out of state with my children. My ex's lawyer and him have manipulated the truth and twisted things around to make things go in his favor knowing I would not be able to afford the legal counsel to continue the fight. Can I somehow stop him from using that lawyer in the future? How can I find a lawyer now that my family and I are tapped out and we are still paying legal fees? We still have several issues and I would like a mediator/lawyer to correct things however, I do not know where to start now that we are in another state and I can't afford legal counsel. What do I do?

My mother is 92 and a new neighbor has recently befriended her. My mother lives alone and about 450 miles from me and refused to move in with me.I became ill and could no longer care for my mother.Family members flew in from other states to help but I lived the closest.I just became aware that my mother has been changing her financial doucuments with the help of this new neighbor.I found her writing and printing on these documents which contain my name,address,social security number.She helped my mother take my name off.She was acting as her legal guardian.My mother cannot hear or see very well and cannot drive anymore.I called this neighbor up and asked her want was going on? She said she was helping because I abandoned my mother.My mother has two medicare nurses a week that assist her and I have a licensed/bonded agency that can take her to doctors and shopping.When I called this neighbor she called the local police and said I harassed her.I tried to tell the officer on the phone that I may be the victim of identity theft and she may have copies of personal information but he said his concern was only about a phone call and didn't want to know anything else.Again,I live 450 miles away.She took my mother to the funeral home where my mother has made her arrangements and had my name crossed out and her name put in to receive my mother's ashes.I don't know what she was up to but it is all very suspicous.Is ther anything I can do? The only things missing so far that I can determine from my mother's home are clothing(which is mine)and some small items. I have a case going on with legal aid and I got the person served with the paperwork. The court told me to give that person 20 days to give an answer. This Thursday will be the 20th day and I wanted to know what do I do on the 21st day if the person doesn't give an answer?

I recently found out that my ex-husband (we were married at the time) was continuing to collect my unemployment benefits under my name for 5 months after I started a new job! DES is now trying to sue me for collecting unemployment! Is there any way to prove that HE was the one collecting my unemployment and NOT me (he was collecting it via the automated weekly claim over the phone)?! How can I prosecute or go after him for the money owed and not me!?

I have been told that is a mother and father of a child come to an agreement on custody, child support and other issues pertaining to the child that they can write it out sign it notarize it and it is legal and will hold up in court. Is this true?
