QUESTIONS

  • hi, as a landlord if I have a tenant that continually pays late. when provided the 5 day pay or quit they pay by the 5th day. are they allowed to do this numerous times within the lease period and the landlord just has to role with it? or after X amount of times does a landlord have the right to possibly evict based on continued late paying
  • As a tenant am I able to send the owner a bill for time spent at the property assisting with maintenance and work done to repair numerous deferred maintenance issues? I calculated at least 55 hours whereby I was expected to be at the property when workers repaired faucets and broken pipes and the need to tear up and replace kitchen tiles, and more. I had to take time out from my work to help the owner fix her property - how can that be correct?
  • My job offer was rescinded after the offer.Reason given was that I was over qualified & would eventually "get an attitude" and have resentment. I was told by the recruiter that I was the only person he interviewed for the position, and the day of my second interview he said "don't blow it" do a good job.I met w/5 other people that day.The whole process took 30 days from start to finish. Recruiter was really complementary of my exp.I am absolutely upset by this behavior.I was offered the job, told to sleep on it & then rescinded when i called to accept. I have been out of work since June.
  • My 15 year old daughter wants to live with me in another county than her father. What is the process she can take to make her wishes known? Her father and I had a recent residency hearing, and the Judge ruled she stay with her father because he felt she was fine where she was, and my daughter was nervous to talk to the judge. However, after learning of the decision, she has told her father she wants to live with me, and she is telling me she wants to tell the judge how she feels, and wants to move with me.
  • Can an order for sole custody be changed if it was granted to the father a year ago?
  • I am taking a corporation to small claims court. does that mean their statutory agent is part of the defendence ? I will have to compete with a lawyer ?
  • I have 50/50 custody w my son who is 13 but he wants to live full time w me. How do I go about requesting the change? I know my son will run away if he's forced to be at his dads house. Please advise, I am extremely worried.
  • I am a landlord and have a question about my legal rights to be notified by the power company (SSVEC) before they shut off service because the Tennant did not pay their electric bill. The signed rental contract gives permission to the power company to notify me of a pending shut off. They have this agreement on file. It gets below freezing here and this puts our units at risk of having frozen or bursting water lines. Also the smoke detectors are disabled. I never want the utilities turned off on the apartments because of this. They just shut off the power for 10 days before I'm aware.
  • If my car is repossessed, due to non-pmyt, will I still have to pay for the car?
  • I was married to an active military person from 6/1974- 8/1987. The divorce was done solely by my ex husband.I simple received the divorce decree in the mail. I was not aware that been married to an active military for 10 years entitles me to a portion of his retirement. My brother just advised me a week ago that I should have and was entitled to this; so this is the first time that I'm trying to get information on the matter. I was never told or known about this.
