QUESTIONS

  • I am asking for my 89-year-old parents who live in a senior independent living facility in Tucson. They are coming up on a lease renewal in mid June, however, we are planning to move them to another Senior independent living facility in Sept or October to get them closer to me, as I am their primary caregiver. Can they get out of this new lease without penalty?
  • I was evicted from my apartment in 2010 after being admitted to the hospital and never returned for my belongings. Two years later I went back to rectify the money owed to them and clear my credit history. They had no records on me and told me they were under new management. Now it is 2015 and a collection agency is attempting to collect money in arrears due to a broken lease as well as 10% interest for the 5 years since the eviction. I want to dispute these excessive charges but do I need an attorney to help me? Please advise. Thanks.

  • I am reaching out on behalf of my mother. My mother has toxoplasmosis and has been losing her eyesight gradually. It is hard for her to do things by herself (but she is proud and I can’t watch her all the time to make sure she doesn’t cause issues like this). My mom ordered checks through a third party associated with her bank. this website makes her enter her own account numbers. Due to this, she accidentally made bad checks and tried to pay her rent with one. They didn’t notify us until yesterday that the check bounced and are trying to charge us 100 dollars in fees. Can I fight this legally
  • I was evicted due to inability to pay due to high medical cost. My landlord allowed the 21 days but took my personal effects to Prescott. Is that possible??? I have lost all due to this disaster. I take responsibility for not paying. I have the funds to pay off the judgment, but have lost all.. Plus a work computer that belongs to my company covered by HIPPA laws. Thank you in advance

  • My ex left to Mexico before our daughter was born. Came back only once to see her and has been MIA for almost 2 years now. He is hiding out in Mexico with his new partner to avoid child support and hasn’t even tried to check in on her in all this time but he pays for his other child and possibly checks in on him as well. so it’s just mine he has cut all ties with. Is this grounds for charges? If so, how would I go about that?
  • I will be changing from salary to hourly, my company is taking 40 hours of my PTO to pay me a weeks wage. Can they do that? I earned those PTO hours.
  • My grandmother has late stage dementia, we recently moved her and provided a Doctors note to relieve her of her lease. I am POA. The apartment complex just sent a letter stating that there is urine on carpet ( my grandmothers) and they have to replace it and treat concrete. My Grandmother is on state assistance and has $110 left over after her assisted living expenses. They said they are giving me 30 days to pay in full or she is going to collections. From what I understand, she is considered judgement clear due to limited income. Can they come after me and send me to collections for this
