Getting Assistance

questions & answers

Question: My brother lives in West Virginia and he is suffering from dementia. He has no one who can assist him in West Virginia. I need to find an attorney in Arizona who can help me become his guardian. Recently he went to an attorney in WV to make out a will; however, he could not pass the competency test. He answered only one question--his name.

Answer: You may use the Legal Learn Portal on this website to submit a request for a low cost attorney, or you may want to call our Legal Learn Center at 866-637-5341 between 10-12 p.m. and 1-3 p.m. M-F.  There is a quick screening process and then a list of attorneys in arizona that handle adult guardianship may be sent to you.  You may also want to search to see if there is a program similiar in West Virginia that could assist with an attorney.  You can find information at http://www.azcourts.gov/selfservicecenter/Self-Service-Forms.  There are forms for adult guardianship on line with information and instructions that may assist you as well.

Additionally, you may go to www.azbar.org to find a comprehensive list of attorneys in Arizona.
