  • Hi, I am a graduate student who just completed my PhD in Neuroscience. I recently received my first ever speeding ticket in Arizona for excessive speeding. It is called a criminal speeding ticket. I have an otherwise clean driving record. The speeding ticket was issued at a moment of non focus and I was not consistently driving at the high speed. I cannot afford to hire a lawyer and am worried about a conviction. Also, I live out of state and am applying for permanent residency. Can you adivse me about pleading guilty to such a charge or help with hiring an attorney.

They are saying we can move that they will let us out of the lease and MAYBE be able to refund sec. dep. Are they required to refund our money and are we entitled to any moving costs

  • My family has been living at our location for over 3 years. We just asked to renew our lease a few months ago. As we were going through the house to see what needs to be fixed and repaired, my wife and I admitted that a few things is our responsibility. Other things I feel should be our LL.   • I moved into a new upstairs apartment unit in May 2011. It is now June 2011. Everything is great, except I have downstairs neighbors who play loud music from 1 am-5 am. The music is soft enough, but the bass is extremely loud. It vibrates our beds, floors and walls. We have spoken with the manager, who says that she can do nothing. The police have come, (twice), and are sympathetic but because it seems to affect only me (the vibration is in the bedroom below me), they don't know what else to do. Can I break my lease? More specifically, I want to change units. Can that be done?
  • We had a roommate. He started drinking heavily again while living here even though one of the agreements was that he didn't. He was late on rent, and after causing a lot of drama ended up getting arrested for DV within the house and is not allowed to return here without police escorts. We also have an Order of Protection against him. A lot of his stuff is still here at the house and we are trying to figure out how long we are obligated to keep it.
