QUESTIONS

  • If our only income is my son's SSI check, can we still get cash assistance? I am a single mother of 3 boys with another on the way.
  • Can I get an order of protection against my husband for verbally and emotionally abusing me and our teen daughter? There is no act of physical violence, but there was a reported act if violence five years ago. Although I don't have any fears if him hurting us physically there is almost daily verbal abuse, yelling, name calling, etc.
  • C Our neighbor upstairs has caused us problems about the parking and has threatened my 70 yr old husband and myself. Last Friday his gun "went off " into the floor of our bedroom, where my granddaughter and I were. He went to jail. No one was hurt. But I do not feel safe with all that and then yesterday a person was arrested in front of our apt with a large amt of money and drugs. He went to jail also. Our lease is up but we had intended to renew. Now I'm afraid to live here. We were supposed to give a 2 months notice if we moved out. Do we still have to give that much notice?
  • We just moved in a month ago to our first apt and we have a pitbull and boxer mix and we disclosed that info on day one. The lady we talked to the first day said it wouldnt be a problem and the just put in boxer for the breed. Fastforward to a day ago we get a notice saying that there was a complaint that we had a pitbull and they are not allowed at my apt complex. I went to the office sayong there was clearly a mistake but no she gave me a ten day notice to get rid of my dog or give 30 days notice of us wanting to move out. I read over the lease agreement and the pet addendum and there is nothing about breed restrictions or pitbulls. Who is in the wrong and where do I stand legally?
  • I would like to know why it is that my income does not count towards my stepchildren when it comes to medical? My husband is currently not working due to he has hemodialysis 3 times a week so I am the primary wage earner in the home. Because my income does not count towards them we are over income for AHCCCS for me & my husband. We had AHCCCS but now don't qualify for TMA & his copays are expensive through my insurance from work.
  • I have been paying rent for a room in a house month-month with no lease agreement. I got a written notice saying I need to be out of the house by the first of August, I received this notice today (7.20.16). That leaves me only 10 days or so, is this legal? I want to leave anyways, but 10 days isn't enough time for me to move due to work. Who can I call, I need to resolve this immediately.

  • I moved in to my apartment on 6/8/18. On 8/20 I found bed bugs in my bedroom. I documented everything and my property manager said she would be sending the exterminator on 8/24 to start the treatment. My question is Who pays for the treatment? When I asked the property manager this she said the cost is split 50/50. On the lease it is NOT stated who is responsible. But, all of our furniture was purchased brand new after we moved in, so I do not believe I as the tenant should pay but I need clarity.
