  • My grown granddaughter borrowed almost $10,000 from me three years ago. In the last two years she has repaid $30. She has money to party and is planning a fancy wedding. I have started garnishment proceedings but that is getting expensive. I did receive a judgement against her but she is ignoring that. I really can't afford to keep paying out sums to the court, an attorney etc. Where can I receive advise? My taxes are very high but my home and car are all I own.
  • My husband has been mentally and physically abusive for the past 7 years. In January he punched me repeatedly in front of our five year son and kick the door in when I kicked him out. My oldest has told me that that he to was hurt by my husband. I've now lost my home(being evicted) and Job because of this.   • My property management company called me yesterday and informed me that I need to go to court for an eviction today.? I NEVER received any summon in the mail and was never severed. I made a partial payment($600 as opposed to the 668 rent amount) via our tenant portal last Friday with a prepaid debit card. My property management company told me yesterday that it hasn t posted even tho I confirmed with the prepaid company yesterday and the tenant portal shows it s cleared. Will a judge grant the eviction?
  • I am a condo owner, I live in the unit and rent out my 2nd bedroom to someone. We have a lease, and we have also been working under the agreement that we switch off paying for things that we share, for example paper towels, light bulbs in the common areas, etc. However, she is now refusing to purchase a new furnace filter, saying that is a 'maintenance item' and is my responsibility. I think this falls under the 'damages due to negligence' clause in the lease. I plan to take the cost of the filters out of her last month's rent and her lease-end date be moved up accordingly. Is that legal?

  • I have been moved in my apt since 3/26/2020 and I haven't received my mailbox key as of today. I've been inquiring about it. My mailbox needs repairs to get a key and get my nail. My mail is being returned to sending because the office lady won't allow my mail to be left with the office people. So I'm not able to get my mail. They had maintenance fix mailboxes few weeks back but they never got to my and the office lady was unable to give me another date when maintenance plans on fixing mine. Am I obligated to pay rent since my mailbox is broken so I'm unable to receive any mail.
