I paid two weeks rent at a week to week rental property. (I have receipt) Lease is verbal and is based on a publicly posted advertisement. IIt was agreed that deposit and rest of monthly rent would be paid in cash in 13 days. I left a check to show good faith and landlord agreed to not cash check. I went to house the next day and was told I was evicted and landlord would not honor our agreement. I was not given any written notice. This has cost me hundreds of dollars in hotel room costs as well as otherother costs not anticipated. What should I do?

My son has an 18 year old daughter but is not listed on the birth certificate. He volunteered to pay child support and longer does as his daughter is over 18. His daughter now wants to have his name on the birth certificate to claim her Native American heritage. Both are in agreement. What is the court process as I was told there isn't a form and to contact legal services. Thank you.

I don't like it, never have. most people who know me call me by the name i wish to use (first name anyway). what should I anticipate as objections or concerns? By the way, have only had one traffic ticket in the past 20 years.

I and my daughter have not seen my husband in 5 years. She is 6. He was abusive but never arrested because he was good at abusing without leaving marks and lying. He has taken steps to hide his whereabouts and stated that if he had to pay child support he would take custody. I have been with my current fiancé for about 3 years and he would like to adopt her. Can he do that before the divorce?

I'm trying to help my mom get food stamps and cash assistance. She is age 56 and gets 480 dollars a month for retirement benefits. However; she has no car and doesn't work. She lives in a trailer. Her bills cost more than what she earns each month. So, I pay the remainder for her. My question is; does she qualify for food stamps and cash assistance without having to work a job at this point? She has no GED and has raised 8 kids and is now divorced. She gets half of her ex husbands retirement, and that's it. I would appreciate any help? I sent in her paperwork by fax.
