Question: I am a PhD student at a private university. My program was sold to me as a 3.5 year program. I started the program in February of 2015 and had a completion date of July 2018. This is indicated on my student loan document. Through 2016 and 2017 had been working on an approved dissertation. In January of 2018, (6 months prior to finishing) I was informed my dissertation was no longer approved and I would need to start a new one. This extends my program by more than a year. Question: I allowed myself to be manipulated to sign an agreement for matchmaking service at 9 at night. The next morning I realized I could not affort it and I wrote a letter to cancel it (via e mail). They responded so I know they received it. The fine print on the contract I signed states the letter must be certified. My understanding is that certified simply ensures the recipient receives the letter. They did respond to e mail. Now, they are stating that they are suing me for the full amount and that I also signed that I must pay all legal fees. Do have any rights here? It has been 2 weeks. Thankyou

Question: We hired a landscaper and gave $2750 deposit for work to begin on August 24th. After several canceled appointments and no shows landscaper agreed to refund deposit. We waited 10 days for refund check and received a post dated check for 30 days into the future. What is our best course of action to get back our money. Question: Paid $150 for hair services and was not happy with outcome,. The business offered to fix for free under their 2 week service guarantee. After having the "fix" completed they attempted to charge me $75 stating that I had agreed to pay! I left very angry and wrote to the BBB. The business is charging me for theft and I want to know what options I have as I do not feel I should have to pay more for services that were offered to correct their mistake! I have pictures and the $150 receipt from the original service.

Question: I discovered AT&T has fraudulently been charging me a "dial-up" fee for my email account. The amount has been between $12.95 and $21.95 every month, and I've had broadband since 2005. I read an article about a lady in New Jersey who had the same problem and she successfully sued AT&T. I'd like to take them to small claims court, but I don't know who to send the claim to. Do I send it to the corporate office? Doesn't someone have to be named? How do I serve them notice?

Question: My friend purchased a car from a private seller and had a contract drawn up and signed by both parties, the car was paid off in full but the other party never released the lien, she was elderly and did not release. Now he took the car back with police and put his name on a clean title...all receipts are in order for paid in full on time..can he do that? Question: I have a walmart discover card that even if i pay the minimum payment, they will tack on a late fee then add the balance and fees together to get the interest payment. My card was over the limit and I did pay that amount, yet they still added another late fee. They have charged over 200 dollars in fees. This is b/s, they get me one way or the other. Question: I was in a car accident. The other driver's insurance company has offered to pay about $1000 -$1500 less than the Kelly Blue Book value for my car. The insurance company will not release my car until I sign the title over to them. The insurance rep will not provide documentation of how they determined the valve of my car. Question: I bought a refurbished tv on ebay. The first one was broken, I paid $51 to send it back to get another one, it too was broken, I had to pay another $51 to send it back andget another. Question: I bought a home in Jan and on the MLS it said the house was 1819 sq. ft.
