Question: I AM 80 YEARS OLD CAN A CREDIT CARD COMPANY TAKE MY SOCIAL SECURITY IF I AM UNABLE TO PAY THE DEBT I HAVE NO OTHER INCOME

Answer: Section 207 of the Social Security Act prohibits a credit card company from garnishing social security retirement benefits.  However, the credit card company may try other avenues to recover the money.  You may need further assistance with this problem and may consider calling the Senior Citizen's Law Project at (602) 252-6710 to see if they can give you some legal assistance with your debt issues.
