Consumer Scams
questions & answers
Question: I think I am being scammed. I received a letter from a previous business firm with a demand to pay. There is no account number, no return address and no signature on the abnormal letter head. How can I tell?
Answer: You might contact the Better Business Bureau to research the company. If you feel you’re the victim of a scam, you can file a complaint with the Arizona Attorney General’s Office at www.azag.gov. Although, the office cannot comment on whether a business is a scam, complaints help them monitor businesses’ activities and if they find cause, it could result in legal action.
