Question: What age can you start getting senior help with the des programs?
Answer:
Age eligibility requirements vary. For example DES’ “Home based services” eligibility begins at age 60 https://www.azdes.gov/landing.aspx?id=7395. ALTCS (Arizona Long term care Services) eligibility: Age 65 or disabled; is needs based (for low-income residents). Applicants must medically qualify for benefits.
Various forms of senior help are available through AZ DES, but you may wish to begin with their Division of Aging and Adult Services at https://www.azdes.gov/daas/
The Division supports at-risk Arizonans meet their basic needs and live safely through a number of programs and initiatives including
· Help for older Arizonans and their caregivers
· Assistance for refugees resettling in Arizona
· Support for victims of domestic violence
· Options for people who are homeless or near homeless
· Protective services for adults who are being abused, neglected and/or exploited
· Services to prevent eviction and loss of utility and telephone services
