AHCCCS Medical Program
questions & answers
Question: Does AHCCCS only pay for Breast Cancer treatment in designated clinics and hospitals. I was reading the article in the Wall Street Joural about the woman who was caught up in the health care system. I want to know if a person making $15,000 a year with no insurance would be turned down for help if she applied to our AHCCCS.
Answer: AHCCCS Health Plans all have contracted provider networks that utilize a variety of providers in the community. Members need to review the website published provider directories for each Health Plan when making a Health Plan selection. If you do not have your health plans phone number you can visit the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) link on MyAHCCCS.com or go to http://www.azahcccs.gov/Services/HealthPlans.aspto search for health plans. You may also call 1-800-962-6690 for help (602-417-7000 in Maricopa County).
