Question: My husband had court a few days ago and a court date was not set. He is in jail with a high bond and no court date... how long can they hold him without a court date
Answer: A defendant must be taken before a judge within 24 hours of their arrest for an Initial Appearance hearing. If a complaint has not been filed within 48 hours of the Initial Appearance hearing, they must be released.
