Answer: Right of rescission According to Arizona law, a debtor may assert rights for a period of 90 days after receiving goods or services. The debtor may only assert rights as to amounts owing and as a defense to or setoff against a claim by the holder. There may be a hefty Early Termination Fee (ETF) for cancelling contract before its terms. An ETF is a fee that you agree to pay to a service provider if you end a service contract before it expires. ETFs are included in contracts for a variety of services including wireless telephone service, cable and satellite TV, and health club memberships. ETFs charged by wireless telephone service providers vary greatly. Depending on your service plan and type of phone, there may be no ETF or the ETF may be over $300.
