Bankruptcy

questions & answers

Question: I am currently unemployed and found it very difficult to find work. I'm reaching the end of my rope with all my bills being extremely late and even though I haven't received a notice yet, I'm expecting a foreclosure notice. I would like to talk to an attorney about what my options are at this point. Thanks Alex

Answer:

If you believe that you may be facing foreclosure and bankruptcy you may want to call the bankruptcy hotline.  The number is 866.553.0893.  They will be able to provide you with information about bankruptcy.

You may also want to review the information found on the United States Bankruptcy Court- District of Arizona website.  Especially the section entitled Debtors Help: Before You File.

Lastly, you may want to look into a voluteer lawyer program such as Lawyers Helping Homeowners.  This is a group of attorney's who are volunteering there time to help people who are facing foreclosure.  However, they may not be able to help you if you have no income to speak of.
