Do I have legal grounds to request that I don't pay my last month's rent at my apartment because of the state of the AC? My AC started leaking so bad that I had to remove the cover from the ceiling, which had been so rusted, that it was dripping out of the rust holes. I found that the condensation pan has a tear that was patched with caulking and it's not even aligned properly! It's an inch thick of rust and it looks as if the air filter has never been changed, so that is why it froze and is now leaking.

I was involved in a very minor collision resulting in minimal vehicle damage & no bodily harm. Accident occurred on a private parking lot which cops would not respond to so there is no reports or documentation of either parties accounts an recollection leading up to accident. Insurance information was exchanged and both parties drove away upon learning no police report would be taken. Months following were an unstable time for me and incident slipped my mind. Until this week even I received a collection letter which to the best of my knowledge is a subrogation notice. With my brief research on this, it's my understanding that I've been deemed at fault. And the insurer of other party has issued a payment covering their damage. Which they are now seeking reimbursement through me. Can I dispute or appeal an how is this done? I firmly believe that the fault is that of the other driver or at least not solely of my own, based on design and layout of parkway's as well as location of impact and damage indicated on both vehicles.

Hello. My ex husband and I were not married nor was he around and in the picture when our son was born so I gave our son my last name. My son is going on 8 years old and my ex wants to change his last name to his. My only issue at this point is my son knows his last name by now and I don't think it's right to change it if it's not something he wants to do. My roommate flaked out on me and I need to pay a termination fee for the apartment. We are both signed on the lease but I need to know if my roommate is also responsible to split the termination fee and if so, what if my roommate refuses? Will she be responsible for paying her part? The termination fee is four months of rent and I am able to pay two (half) of the overall fee. My landlords said if she won't pay her part, it will be sent to collections and they will also require me to pay the remaining balance if she doesn't.

My dad and neice have lived in a rental condo for years together , they are both on the lease, recently she has stopped paying her portion of rent and has stopped working and even let her boyfriend move in without my dads consent.
