  • My house has rats and landlord hired an exterminator who laid bait under the wood floors and the rats died in the house. The house now smells putrid and my landlord refuses to hire someone to remove the rats. I don't know what to do, I can't even stay in my own house. Also after I read through our rental agreement I noticed that she has snuck in little clause stating that if I take any type of legal action towards her she has the right to evict me. Is any of this legal?!
  • I never signed a lease when I moved in to my current home in Scottsdale. I did, however, give a 'last months' rent as a deposit. They were able to locate a new renter after two months and returned a portion of our Security Deposit, but say we are responsible for these fees. They would have had these fees in June when our lease was up. Is it legal for them to use our deposit for expense associated with the new tenant?

  • I am currently renting a condo. The back fence of this condo is "leaning" over badly, and the back gate is not secure to keep "preditors" or unwanted people out. I feel that these issues should be addressed. In my walk-thru I have written these down. The landlord and owner of property know about this and have done nothing. Can I ask them again to address these issues? What is the law for them fixing these issues and do they have to?
