QUESTIONS

  • I let a friend move in with a verbal agreement that she would pay rent when she got a job - it has been a year and no job and no rent. Do I still need to go to court to evict her if she has never paid anything?
  • I owe a debt to a creditor for medical expenses. The creditor has increased the debt by charging me a penalty for not paying on time. Is this legal? Are all late fees penalties?
  • I live in an HOA where the board wants to change the CC&Rs to start requiring homeowners to provide deposits for several things, such as bringing in dumpsters. I reviewed Title 33 and the only place where I see they can require a deposit is for remodeling a main house (33-1817.B) in order to make sure the remodel complies with approved plans. ARS Title 33 is clear that the HOA can assess fines and assessments but, other than this one instance, it does not say they can require deposit. Are they allowed to do this?

It has been 6 months now and I was asked if we still had her items and wanted to pick them up. Is she still entitled to these items?

Is this possible? Sewer roaches (American) carry numerous germs that can affect humans and pet health via diseases. What are my rights based on this situation? Can you please help me?
