Landlord and Tenant - Mobile Home Parks

questions & answers

Question: i never signed a contract and i pay weekly on time in full. i have had anbextra person ihere and we r quiet no complains. they r saying we need to leave we cant stay evenbif we do monthly with a contractcontract. r trailer is one of the cleanest here and we r very quiet. wewe have no where else can they kickbus out

Answer: This depends on what your contract says. IF you own your trailer the law is different than if you are renting the trailer, not just the space. Either way, the landlord has to go to court to kick you out. They can't lock you out or shut off the utilities. It's not clear to me why the park wants you out, but having a guest for less than 14 days a month is not a reason to get evicted. You can stay until you get served with court papers telling you to come to court. Then go to court and tell your story to the judge. Whether you have a place to go is not a reason to stop the eviction however. You could also try to contact Legal AId to see if they can help you.
