questions & answers
Question: How long do I have to pay late fees occurred during a lease of a property?
Answer: In theory, a tenant may be responsible for continuing to pay reasonable late fees as specified in a written rental agreement for as long as the rental agreement remains in effect. A landlord may sue a tenant for unpaid rent and/or fees under a written rental agreement for up to 6 years after the rent and/or fees become due (A.R.S. 12-548).
