Landlord and Tenant Rights and Responsibilities
questions & answers
Question: How long does the landlord have to fix damages in my apartment that were their on move in?
Answer: As a general rule, a residential landlord is expected to make repairs requested by a tenant in writing within a “reasonable” period of time (except in the case of an emergency, when such repairs should be made right away or at least as soon as possible). It is always recommended that residential tenants make detailed requests for repairs in the form of signed and dated writings (whether paper or electronic).
