Landlord and Tenant Rights and Responsibilities

questions & answers

Question: How many months can a landlord write a residential lease for.

Answer: The Arizona Residential Landlord and Tenant Act does not specify how long or how short a rental agreement may or must be. The term of a rental agreement is whatever the landlord and the tenant agree to. If no term is specified, then the rental agreement is presumed to be a month-to-month agreement (A.R.S. 33-1314).
