questions & answers
Question: When I rented the apt I'm living in now, there was no actual walkthru, where damages are noted, etc. I did take pictures before I spent a night there, will these hold up in court?
Answer: What matters most in court is the personal testimony (made under oath) of the witness. Of course, supporting evidence is always helpful as well. As a general rule, if photos are date- and time-stamped, and have not been altered, then they may be useful. If someone else was there and can corroborate the witness’ story, then that may be useful as well. As may be an explanation for why no move-in walkthrough ever took place.
