Landlord and Tenant Rights and Responsibilities
questions & answers
Question: We live in a 55+ Mobile home park. My dad & mom bought it about 8 or so years ago for me. They lived in it and are on the rental agreement But I'm the owner and not on the rental agreement. But my Husband and I have been living here for about 4/5 years now we pay the lot rent and the utilities. He knows we're here but every time our son comes to visit he always stops him and gives him a hard time which then he comes at us with mailed forms for instance telling us we can't be here after knowing we're here and I own the trailer. There's a lot more as well.. Need legal advice.. This is our home.
Answer: It is difficult to say what your best course of action is without knowing more details – especially why you and your husband are not named in the rental agreement even though you now are living there and have been doing so for years. The specific rules and regulations and other policies of the mobile home park in which you are living also may be relevant.
