Landlord and Tenant Rights and Responsibilities
questions & answers
Question: Is a landlord required to provide a washing machine if it is not specified in the rental agreement? If the rental agreement specifies that the tenant is responsible for maintenance and repairs of all appliances provided in the home, is the landlord obligated to use a home warranty fund for such repairs?
Answer: NO. Landlords are not required to provide washers. The landlord is not required to use a home warranty fund for repairs. HOw they pay for repairs (and they are responsible for repairs for appliances they provide unless you cause damage to them) is also up to them. You shouldn't have to pay to fix a bad stove that the landlord provided
